More Than a Tournament: Standing Ready for Missouri’s Public Servants

As September approaches, the Missouri 10-33 Benevolent Fund is preparing for a busy month of golf tournaments, fundraising and fellowship. But behind every team registration, sponsor sign and round of golf is a purpose that has remained constant for more than 26 years: being ready when a Missouri public servant’s family needs us most.

Since 2000, the Missouri 10-33 Benevolent Fund has provided immediate financial assistance to families who have lost a loved one in the line of duty. To date, 150 families have received assistance from the Fund.

Our commitment reaches across Missouri. We stand ready to serve families in all 114 counties and the City of St. Louis, whether their loved one served at the local, county or state level.

Who Does 10-33 Serve?

While our roots are closely connected to Missouri law enforcement, the 10-33 mission extends much further.

The Fund provides assistance following qualifying line-of-duty deaths involving public servants such as law enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency medical personnel, corrections employees, transportation workers and other eligible public servants who work every day to protect, serve and support Missouri communities.

Different uniforms. Different jobs. One shared commitment to public service.

And when tragedy strikes, one shared promise from Missouri 10-33: we will be there.

Why the Golf Tournaments Matter

Our golf tournaments are about much more than golf. Every team that registers, every business that sponsors a hole, every organization that provides a donation and every volunteer who gives a few hours of their time helps make it possible for Missouri 10-33 to respond quickly when a family receives devastating news.

There is no application campaign to launch and no time to begin fundraising after tragedy occurs. The resources must already be there. That is why the support we receive before we are needed matters so much.

September Is an Important Month

September will bring several opportunities for supporters to help strengthen that mission, beginning with the Missouri 10-33 Open Golf Tournament on Friday, September 11, at Columbia Country Club.

The Open brings together public servants, businesses, longtime supporters and friends of the Fund for a day that is enjoyable—but also deeply connected to our mission.

Additional tournaments will follow during September, continuing a tradition that has helped sustain the Fund for more than two decades. Whether you play, sponsor, donate, volunteer or simply help share our story, you become part of the network that allows Missouri 10-33 to answer when the call comes.

Ready Before the Call Comes

We never know where in Missouri the next call may come from. We hope it never comes at all. But our responsibility is to be prepared.
